The Energy Academy

Manchester is my Planet has teamed up with the Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre, the charity Action for Sustainable Living (AfSL) and Trafford Council to secure funding from AGMA and NWIEP to develop to develop the Energy Academy pilot project.

Launched in June 2009, the Energy Academy takes the form of a supported volunteer network to engage, enthuse, advise and support residents in maximising the energy efficiency of their homes and lifestyles. It brings together the community engagement skills of AfSL to increase uptake of the Energy Saving Trust's services in the Altrincham area of Trafford.

The Energy Academy project design was shaped by consultation with supporters of Manchester is my Planet at a 'think tank' event held in May 2008.

The Energy Academy was one of six projects being piloted across the EU under the Changing Behaviour Project.
